A History of Innovation
fOR OVER 20 YEARS, G&S Foods has enabled snack food companies to DEVELOP AND enhance products without capital investment or increaseD overhead.
Steve Garvick and Dale Spahr founded G&S Foods in a 20,000 sq ft leased facility in York, PA. They offered private label and contract manufactured snacks with their first product line manufacturing seasoned pretzels and snack mix blends.
Having already outgrown their 20,000 sq ft warehouse, G&S Foods and Tastysnack Quality Foods relocated to a 75,000 sq ft facility in Abbottstown, PA. They purchased this facility two years later.
G&S Foods acquired a 110,000 sq ft temperature-controlled warehouse in Hanover, PA to meet growing demand for private label.

G&S Foods acquired Tastysnack, Inc. and formed Tastysnack Quality Foods, Inc. which provided a single compound enrobing line which they used to manufacture enrobed pretzels for private label.
G&S Foods added 22,500 temperature-controlled square feet to the Abbottstown facility.
MAW acquired G&S Foods and Tastysnack Quality Foods and became G&S Foods, LLC.
Experienced Leadership
A snack industry veteran with more than 30 years of CPG experience, Dan began his career at The Boston Popcorn Company. From there he launched two successful companies, Patriot Snacks and Bay State Snacks, maker of the Famous Amos cookie line. Dan then served as Chief Sales Officer at Snyder's-Lance, Inc., before joining BFY Brands, Inc, maker of PopCorners, as President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Tony is a CPA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with 20 years experience working in manufacturing environments including the management and administration of foreign subsidiaries. Tony spent ten years in public accounting as an auditor and business advisor for Ernst & Young. Tony has a BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University.

Chuck started his snack career at Bon Ton/York Snacks. Then he was at the forefront of the organic snack movement-first substantially growing Guiltless Gourmet tortilla chips by repositioning the snack from specialty to DSD distribution, and later as an owner of Mesa Foods where he spearheaded growth strategies in private label, co-manufacturing and foodservice.

Wade has spent most of his adult life in snack manufacturing. He has vast experience working with branded labels, as well as private label/ contract manufacturing during his time with York Snacks, Bon-Ton and American Food Products.

VP Operations
Travis is responsible for product innovation, development and quality control. Prior to G&S, he was VP of Research & Development at Snyder’s/Lance where he spent his entire professional career.
